Although the world is constantly changing this promise has not, and it stems from deep within our history. What we now know as Henry Schein, began over half a century ago in a small shop in Pitt Street, Sydney. Martin Halas believed in providing exceptional products, services and innovation.
In 1962, he changed the face of dentistry, introducing the Veneered Metal Crown (VMK) process. For the first time ever, dental technicians were able to build long-term, natural-looking restorations. From here, Halas Dental only grew.  His strong passion for dental education meant he was the first in Australia to organise hands-on courses and what started as his small shop on Pitt Street, became a highly respected company world-wide.
 
The other half of our history began in Queens, New York in 1932, when Henry and Esther Schein founded a small pharmacy. In 1935, they introduced mail order which began the expansion of their business. Over the next eight decades, Henry Schein would grow from a small store, to the world’s largest provider of health care products to the dental, medical and veterinary industries. Their company, through its values and commitment to customers, has pioneered innovation and global change throughout the health sector. 

Not only were Martin Halas and Henry and Esther Schein respected and successful business operators, but they saw their team as family and instilled this value in the working environment. The parallels that we can draw between the great foundations set by Halas Dental and Henry Schein, are testament to the importance of the synergy of our core values.

We have come a long way as a company since last century, but our values have not changed.
